Welcome to Bellissimo Vineyard and Wine!

We are confident that you will agree-Bellissimo!

Our 24 rows of Cabernet Sauvignon (Clone 8) and 20 rows of Merlot (Clone 3) were planted in a 3x10 foot configuration in 2008. It is sustainably farmed at 4- 4.5 tons per acre, and our small size allows us to irrigate precisely, control yields, and harvest at the moment of perfection.

While much of our harvest has been purchased by large wine companies in the past, we have produced several small (five barrel) vintages of Merlot, Cabernet, and a blend for several years and have been thrilled by the quality of the fruit.

Location

Vino Bellissimo is a five acre vineyard located in the heart of the Wahluke Slope AVA, at the intersection of Washington Highway 243 and Road 24, adjacent to the town of Mattawa, WA.

Our hillside location receives 300 days of sunshine annually, and cool evening breezes from the Columbia River (1/2 mile away) slow ripening and preserve the complex characteristics of the fruit. The alluvial sand-gravel soil and gently sloped location closely resembles that of the great viticultural region of Bordeaux.
